Are you feeling overwhelmed or struggling to cope?
Has something happened that's left you feeling stuck, unsafe or unsure where to turn?
Are you worried about your mental health or concerned about someone you care about?
You don't have to face it alone.
The Lifeline Connect program provides timely, person-centred crisis counselling and support for people experiencing emotional distress or significant life challenges. This may include concerns such as mental health difficulties, suicidal thoughts or self-harm, domestic and family violence, homelessness, grief and loss, financial stress, relationship breakdown, substance use, or any other situation affecting your wellbeing.
You can access the service by referring yourself, through a referral from another service or by calling us directly, or by visiting one of our locations.
Every person receives an initial assessment to better understand their current circumstances, identify any immediate risks, and determine the most appropriate support. Where needed, our counsellors work alongside you to develop safety plans, provide brief therapeutic support, and respond to your immediate needs.
The program offers up to six counselling sessions, tailored to your individual goals and circumstances. Using evidence-informed, brief intervention approaches, our counsellors help you develop practical coping strategies, build resilience, and connect with longer-term services where ongoing support is needed, ensuring continuity of care beyond your initial support.
For more information or to make an appointment, please call 1300 991 443.
You can also submit a referral to the program.
Centre-based and outreach services are available across Toowoomba, Dalby, Roma, Miles, Chinchilla and Tara.
This program is funded by Lifeline Australia.
If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, please call Triple Zero (000) or contact Lifeline's 24/7 Crisis Support on 13 11 14.
